Daddys Girl Memories
Since a very young age, I have always been ‘Daddy’s Girl’. Through the many adventures and mishaps between the two of us, there are plenty of stories to tell.
As a young girl my father would endure countless hours of being forced to play Barbies with me, playing board games, watching movies, and singing songs. We often would go on ‘adventures’ in the woods behind our house in which we would discover all kinds of things that we never had before.
He has always had a way of making everything more exciting.
At one point he built a tool shed and I always wanted to hang out with him in it. I decided around that time that I wanted a ‘club house’, so he cleaned out his tool shed, gave it to me, and built a new one.
In the Bible it says that we are made in God’s image… Well that leads me to believe that fathers were given their roles to be like The Father.
According to the bible the qualities or virtues that we should possess are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. My father has showed me an immeasurable amount of love.
He has never given up on me and always been there for me, demonstrating patience and faithfulness. He doesn’t say inconsiderate or hurtful things to me, which proves his kindness, gentleness, and self-control.
I appreciate every quality that my father possesses, but the one that I appreciate most has got to be his goodness.
Through my teenage years I disobeyed, said hurtful things, became ungrateful, and so much more. Through this time my father could have given up on me, or treated me the same way; but he didn’t.
He loved me and tried to point me in the right direction.
I am very thankful for my dad. I hope that as I grow more I can develop the characteristics that he has. There is no one else in this world that I can think of that could have been a better role model for me.
There is also no one else in this world that I love more than my daddy, Allen Barlow.
